October Meeting with Joey Kent - Friday Oct 25, 2013

The Third weekend in October is special in many faithful Tennessee Volunteers' hearts. Tennessee's all-time leading receiver, Joey Kent was instrumental in helping establish the nickname 'Wide Receiver U' for the Vols.  Joseph " Joey" Kent was born in Huntsville, AL, graduated from J.O. Johnson High School in 1992. He attended the University of Tennessee from 1992-1997, and became the All-Time leading receiving leader in school history with totals of 183 catches, 2814 yards and 25 touchdowns earning 1st team All-SEC honors in 1996. He also had 15 100-yard receiving games, four more than any other Vols, including a record seven-straight during the 1996 campaign. Kent is one of just five Vols to lead the team in receiving yards for three straight seasons.  I want to invite everyone out for good for and great fun with a friend of ours.

Fall Kickoff Meeting Thursday, August 29, 2013

Trivia Night with Charlie Severance

It’s Football Time in Tennessee! The Birmingham Big Orange Club welcomes Charlie Severance to our 2013 Kickoff Meeting. Severance played defensive back for the Volunteers 1959-60. Severance is remembered among University of Tennessee football fans for helping keep Billy Cannon of LSU out of the end zone in the famous 1959 two-point play known as "The Stop." He was inducted to the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He will share with us his experiences playing for the Vols.

We will play a trivia game so all of the Tennessee sports aficionados can show off their knowledge of UT sports history. The winning prizes would be cherished by any Volunteer fan!
